About This Course
A counsellor is trained to help children navigate difficult emotions, build self-esteem, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. By working with a counsellor, children can learn essential life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.
Teachers can be great counsellors for their students. They have a unique opportunity to get to know their students personally and offer guidance and support when needed. Teachers can listen to their students’ concerns and help them work through any challenges they may face, whether academic, social, or emotional.
This course is divided into five (5) videos that discuss the importance of teachers as counsellors in guiding children to manage a healthy coping mechanism.
Video 1 – What is Counselling? & Types of Counselling
Video 2 – Principles of Counselling
Video 3 – Theories of Counselling
